Academy Overview

The Ballet Afrique Dance Academy (BADA) is a fine arts training program for students (ages 3 to Adults) with instructors that are highly trained and enthusiastic about dance arts education. The program is designed to develop students technically and artistically in a professional and warm environment, and encourage creative expression, personal growth, and self-esteem.

Class Policies and Procedures

The following are policies and agreements that all students (or their parent or guardian) will be required to agree to before attending class.

Tuition*: Tuition is due by the 5th of every month. We accept check, money order, cash, and electronically through paypal.
Upon Registration there is $20 non-refundable Fee.
  • 1 class per week, $45 monthly
  • 2 classes, $60 monthly
  • 3 classes, $72 monthly
  • Drop-in classes will be offered at $15/class
*BADA offers dance scholarships and financial aid to students and families, please contact info@balletafriqueaustin.org for more.

Uniform: Students must have proper dance attire in each class. Hair must be tied back securely and no jewelry is allowed.
Girls:
  • Ballet: Ballet shoes, solid-color leotard and tight. Skirts optional.
  • Jazz: Leotard and tights. Boy shorts, skirts are optional. Black jazz oxfords.
  • Tap: Leotard and tights. Boy shorts, skirts are optional. Black tap shoes.
  • Hip Hop: All black leotard, tights & ballet slippers or jazz shoes.
Boys: All black leotard, tights & ballet slippers or jazz shoes.

Attendance: Students are expected to attend classes regularly and on time. Class time is very important to us and your attendance is essential. Absenteeism may result in the student’s limited participation in a recital number. Students must be picked up promptly when class is over and will not be allowed to leave the studio unattended.

Class withdrawal and Refund: No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes or class withdrawals. No refunds will be given for missed classes. Students may make up their missed classes by selecting an alternative within two weeks. Please call and inform us when your child will be absent.

Video/Photography Release: East Austin Performing Arts-Ballet Afrique has permission to record the participation of the student on video or by photography and to use it for promotion and public relations on the internet, in print, and other East Austin Performing Arts-Ballet Afrique functions for promotional purposes only. Such recordings are the sole property of East Austin Performing Arts-Ballet Afrique.

Waiver and release of all claims: As additional consideration for the student’s instruction, the registered student, parent(s), or guardian(s) of the student hereby releases and waives any and all claims against Ballet Afrique, and any and all employees, contractors, and volunteers for any liability including but not limited to personal and bodily injuries (including death) and loss of or damage to property of the student or person related to the student or persons related to the student which may occur while participating in the activities, activities sponsored by, or in the physical building where Ballet Afrique classes are held. The undersigned represents that the student is in good health and does not have any history of a medical or physical condition (unless specified above) that would place the student a risk of because of his/her condition.

Consent to release to someone other than parent: Ballet Afrique can only release students who are under 18 years old to parents or guardians. We must have written permission to release the student to other adults. Designate adults who are authorized to pick up your child at the end of their class or in case of emergency.
